For our August campout this year, we camped at Rocky Gap State Park and enjoyed the surrounding area. There were pretty awesome some thunderstorms that rolled through, so we changed our plans a little so that we would be inside during the storms. But that meant we got to do a really fun escape room in Cumberland in addition to our other planned activities. We beat the record for the fastest time in this escape room for the month of August!

After the escape room, we drove to Minor Hickory Farm for our Horseback Riding. Afterwards, we got to hold baby goats.

On Friday, we went to Wilderness Voyageurs in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania. Our plan was to have a guide escort us on the lower Youghiogheny River, but the previous day there was so much rain that the river levels rose beyond the safe limit for us to do it ourselves, so we had a guide in every boat. This ended up making the trip more fun, as the waves were massive and the currents were fast.

After rafting, we kept our tradition by hiking at Cucumber Falls, and we stopped at Fort Necessity on the way back to camp.

We also spent the evening at Rocky Gap State Park’s Lake Habeeb, pretending to catch fish, playing card games, and talking about how much we love cucumbers.
