This is one campout that was a TON of fun. We camped at Manidokan, where we do camporee every year. we had some yummy food, a good night’s rest, and as always, a lot of fun.
Our day activity was hiking to Maryland Heights. We had a few scouts who were working on Hiking Merit Badge who needed a ten mile hike for a requirement, so they started the hike earlier and from further away. The hike was difficult, with steep inclines through the whole thing, but it was fun with so many people, awesome views, walking though the city for some parts, and as a surprise treat, we got ICE CREAM!
Hiking was really great with the scouts in our troop – they bring energy, endurance, and unity throughout the whole day, each one with something positive to say or some encouragement to give.
