Boy Scout Troop 1920 of the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America chartered by the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #15 Rockville/Maryland (“Troop 1920”) operates this Site to provide online access to information about Troop 1920 and the events, services, and opportunities we provide (the “Service”). By accessing and using this Site, you agree to each of the terms and conditions set forth herein (“Terms of Use”). 1. Use of Site

You may use the Service, the Site, and the information, writings, images and/or other works that you see, hear or otherwise experience on the Site (singly or collectively, the “Content”) solely for your non-commercial, personal purposes and/or to learn about Troop 1920 and our activities. Troop 1920 reserves complete title and full intellectual property rights in all Content. Federal and Boy Scouts of America Policy prohibit or restrict Troop 1920 from collecting information from persons under the age of 13, and from having direct 1 on 1 contact with youth members of the Scouts BSA / Boy Scouts of America. For Troop 1920 and other youth members that would like to receive the information on this site, please confine yourself to the non-member public pages, or otherwise, ask your parents or guardians to join on your behalf and provide you with the necessary information.

You further warrant that you have the authority to grant said rights on that content.

Troop 1920 and its representatives reserves the right to remove any user created content from this site without notice and for any reason or no reason at all. Troop 1920 is a volunteer organization, and this website is operated by skilled, but non-professionals. In such cases, you agree to hold Troop 1920 harmless for such unintentional acts.

This site utilizes open-source management and plug-in tools that were not developed by Troop 1920. You agree to hold Troop 1920 harmless if these tools or automatically applied updates to these tools, unbeknown to Troop 1920, operate against the spirit of these Terms of Use.

You acknowledge that this site utilizes standard security tools provided by the website host or through the open-source management tools and plug-ins. This site may not employ active security measures to prevent or detect a breech, and Troop 1920 may not even be aware that a breech has occurred and the registered user information or content may have been compromised. You agree to hold Troop 1920 harmless for such an occurrence or our failure to detect it or notify registered users in a timely fashion. It is recommended that you do not use the same password on this website that you may use for other activities.

14. User Conduct

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You agree not to take any action that might compromise the security of the Site, render the Site inaccessible to others or otherwise cause damage to the Site or the Content. Troop 1920 is pleased to accept your ideas and feedback to improve our program or this website. If you submit ideas, then regardless of the means used or what your posting, email, letter, or other transmission may say, (1) you automatically grant Troop 1920 a non-exclusive, royalty free license to use that idea without any additional compensation to you; (2) Troop 1920 will have no obligation to return your idea to you or respond to you in any way; (3) Troop 1920 will have no obligation to keep your idea confidential; and (4) Troop 1920 may use your idea for any purpose whatsoever, including giving your idea to others.

16. User Supplied Information

Troop 1920 does not want to receive private or confidential information from you via the Site. You agree that any material, information, or data you transmit to us or post to the Site (each a “Submission” or collectively “Submissions”) will be considered non confidential and non proprietary. For all Submissions, (1) you guarantee to us that you have the legal right to post the Submission and that it will not violate any law or the rights of any person or entity, and (2) you give Troop 1920 the royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to use, distribute, display and create derivative works from the Submission, in any and all media, in any manner, in whole or in part, without any restriction or responsibilities to you.

17. Password Security

If you register to become a troop1920.com registered user, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your member identification and password information, and for restricting access to your computer. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your member identification and password.  It is recommended that you do not use the same password for this system that you would use for other systems, particularly sensitive systems.

18. General Provisions

  1. Entire Agreement/No Waiver. These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof. No waiver by Troop 1920 of any breach or default hereunder shall be deemed to be a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default.
  2. Correction of Errors and Inaccuracies. The Content may contain typographical errors or other errors or inaccuracies and may not be complete or current. Troop 1920 therefore reserves the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update the Content at any time without prior notice. Troop 1920 does not, however, guarantee that any errors, inaccuracies or omissions will be corrected.
  3. Enforcement/ Choice of Law/ Choice of Forum. If any part of this Agreement is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, it will not impact any other provision of this Agreement, all of which will remain in full force and effect. Any and all disputes relating to this Agreement, Troop 1920’s Privacy Policy, your use of the Site, any other Troop 1920 web site, the Service, or the Content are governed by, and will be interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to any conflict of laws provisions.
  4. Claims of Copyright Infringement. Pursuant to Title 17, United States Code, Section 512(c)(2), notifications of claimed copyright infringement should be sent to the operator of this website by means of the Contact Us page.
