We had a chance to participate with the Montgomery Village Foundation for their clean-up of Lake Whetstone. It was a perfect chance to wear our new Class B purple shirts for some good service!

They provided rowboats and canoes, so that small groups could row around the lake and collect trash from the edges, near the shore.

The scouts loved canoeing and finding crazy trashy treasures! We collected about 5 bags of trash, including a car tire, about a thousand plastic bottles, and some shoes. Some of the scouts used this as an opportunity to demonstrate line-throws!

We were even mentioned in the Montgomery Village News write-up about the event. Check it out here!
