Hello Everyone! Another campout synopsis for you, this one with Whitewater Rafting. No, this year, we did not adopt a cat, but we had a ton of fun with the beach at our campsite, where we were able to go standup paddle boarding, and just swim around playing tag, having fun, and playing Gravel at the close playground.
The main point of our trip, the whitewater rafting, happened the day after we got there, in the early morning. The air was brisk, and the water was chilly, and with lower water levels than last year, we had quite the adventure. This year, we had enough scouts for 3 boats, which was awesome, and we were able to go through the rapids with relative ease, thanks to the guides in our boats. In about the middle of our trip we had the option to jump into the water from a big rock like 15 feet high, which was so cool, and many of our scouts enjoyed going off it. We continued on our journey, sailing down rapids, getting to know our guides, and generally having a good time.
After we finished, we headed over to Cucumber Falls, a waterfall near the rafting site that eventually ran into the river. Because the water level was low, we could wade in the water, creating rock pile masterpieces, and walking under and behind the waterfall. It was a really great place to hang out, but eventually, we had to headed back to camp.
After a long day of thrills and adventure, we were able to hang out at the camp, make friendship bracelets, play music, create skits and a campfire, make some scrumptious food, go down to see the aviary near our campsite where they took care of the birds, and just have a generally amazing time. Camping with this troop is always a delight, and this time was no exception, and despite some car troubles on our drive back, I think everyone had an amazing time.
